Top Gun: Maverick – Because of his massive problems with authority, Navy pilot Pete Mitchell never managed to make a great career in the military. When he gets into trouble again, he is unceremoniously transferred to his old elite flying school “Top Gun”. His job there is to train young pilots and prepare them for a dangerous mission: The team is to destroy the heavily guarded nuclear program of a rogue state from the air. Mitchell, better known as Maverick (Tom Cruise), is faced with the challenge of preparing a new generation of elite pilots for an emergency. Among his students is Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw (Miles Teller), the son of his deceased friend and radar intercept officer Nick “Goose” Bradshaw. The relationship between Maverick and Rooster is characterized by old wounds and conflicts, which puts additional strain on the already challenging training phase.
As Maverick leads the young pilots through rigorous training, he must confront his own demons from the past and take responsibility for the lives of his protégés.
