Mary Poppins Returns: London in 1930: the country is struggling with an economic crisis and Michael (Ben Whishaw) and Jane Banks (Emily Mortimer) have grown up. Jane campaigns for women’s rights and Michael works in the bank where his father was employed and still lives at No. 17 Cherry Tree Lane with his three children Annabel (Pixie Davies), Georgie (Joel Dawson) and John (Nathanael Saleh) and housekeeper Ellen (Julie Walters). But when Michael’s wife dies, he, Jane and the children promptly get help from the mysterious nanny Mary Poppins (Emily Blunt). She hasn’t forgotten her magic tricks and also has a number of rather quirky friends with her, including the optimistic lamplighter Jack (Lin-Manuel Miranda) and Mary’s eccentric cousin Topsy (Meryl Streep). Together they bring fun and wonder back into the lives of the Banks family.
