Greenland: When a hail of comets hurtles towards the planet, it is a matter of sheer survival for the people on Earth. John Garrity (Gerard Butler) and his wife Allison (Morena Baccarin) want to do everything in their power to bring their son Nathan (Roger Dale Floyd) to safety. The family is one of the few selected for air transportation to a top-secret safe haven. Just as the family thinks they are safe, they are torn apart just minutes before take-off. John desperately searches for Allison and Nathan. But at the same time, Allison must search on her own for her son, who has been kidnapped and urgently needs medical help.
As the catastrophe draws inexorably closer, John and Allison fight their way through a land filled with panic and chaos. They meet other desperate survivors and must stand their ground against raiders and the forces of nature, all the while holding out hope of reuniting their family. The journey takes them through ruined cities and dangerous landscapes as the comet shards come ever closer, leaving destruction in their wake. John and Allison discover how strong their love and determination really are as they fight for their child’s life and their own future.
In a race against time, they not only have to brave the elements, but also make serious moral decisions that could affect the fate of their family and possibly that of the entire human race. “Greenland” is a gripping disaster film that impressively shows the limits of the human will to survive and the indestructible power of family.
