Hiking in Tyrol
The best hiking areas around the Zugspitze
Hiking in Austria: Our recommendations
Zugspitze, Grubigstein, Thaneller, Daniel, to name just a few of the highest peaks around MyTirol.
The Tiroler Zugspitz Arena region offers a huge hiking area with all levels of difficulty and possibilities.
You can start your hiking vacation from Hotel MyTirol or take the Marienbergbahn cable car directly from the front door “up the mountain”. Of course, the numerous huts will also provide you with a tasty snack. You will find more than 30 rustic Tyrolean alpine huts that invite you to linger and rest while hiking in Austria.
As an insider tip for hiking in Tyrol, we recommend the route to the Nassereither Alm or to the 2,250 m high Bergleskopf and back on the Römerweg.
- Countless hiking routes
- Possible in summer & winter
- Discover great alpine huts
Where do you start hiking in Tyrol?
Our routes for beginners and pros
Lechtal Alps, Mieminger Kette, Zugspitze and Ammergau Alps. These are the four mountain ranges that give the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena its unique name. Like an arena, they guard from four sides what can be experienced within the valley. And there is a lot. We have now stopped counting the hiking routes because there are simply too many. What’s more, each one is more beautiful than the next and if you’re really serious, you’ll become a permanent guest at MyTirol.
Did you know, for example, that in addition to the ascent to the Zugspitze, two well-known long-distance hiking trails also lead directly through our beautiful Zugspitze region? With the Adlerweg and the Via Alpina, two of the most beautiful trails pass through our Tiroler Zugspitz Arena.
The hiking routes with views of the picture-book mountain scenery are just as suitable for beginners and connoisseurs as they are for experienced and fit hikers. mountain fox.
- To get started, we recommend the hike to the Loisach springs or to our Sunnalm on the Marienberg
- If you want to combine your mountain tour with a journey into the past, the Silberleithe mining trail up to an altitude of 1,631 m is a great option, as it takes you past historic mining tunnels.
- For advanced hikers, it can also be a tour over the Wannig to the Coburger Hütte or a climb up the nearby Zugspitze.
