Start your tour to the Sunnalm via route 835, a medium-difficulty mountain bike tour in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena. Start in Biberwier, conquer gentle climbs and gravel paths to the Waldhaus Talblick mountain restaurant and on to the Sunnalm at an altitude of 1,633 meters. Ride the 6.4-kilometre route in around 1.5 hours and enjoy the magnificent views.

From the Sunnalm, you have several downhill options: Return relaxed on the same route, test the Marienberg Trail with its 3.6 kilometers of flow trail (difficulty S1-S2), ideal for less experienced trail bikers, or venture onto the Barbarasteig (trail no. 869), an exciting single trail with a difficulty level of S1-S2.

Challenging hut tour | Starting point: Marienbergbahn valley station at Hotel MyTirol | End point: Muthenau Alm (Nassereither Alm)

Start your tour to the Nassereither Alm, also known as the Muthenaualm, a medium-difficulty mountain bike route in the Mieminger Kette in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena vacation region. Start in Biberwier and follow the route, which takes you over challenging climbs and varied gravel paths. The route covers around 12.2 kilometers and takes around 2 hours to complete. Once you reach the top, enjoy the magnificent view of the Wannig in the south-east and fortify yourself with regional delicacies. Beautiful and challenging bike tour with optional downhill run | start/ end: Marienberglift valley station at Hotel MyTirol | approx. 34.1km

Start your challenging mountain bike tour around the Wannig and experience an exciting combination of steep climbs, alpine trails and challenging downhill sections. The route takes you via the Nassereither Alm and the Marienbergjoch and offers impressive panoramas that are worth every effort. A technically challenging single trail awaits you on the descent, taking you back to Nassereith and guaranteeing pure downhill action.

Start your medium-difficulty mountain bike tour on the Panorama Trail from Biberwier. The route takes you along varied paths with moderate climbs and offers impressive views of the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena. Along the way, you will pass highlights such as the Weißensee and Blindsee lakes, which invite you to take short breaks. The route is around 11.3 kilometers long and requires a good basic level of fitness and advanced riding technique. Remember your safety equipment and ride carefully, as the paths are also used by hikers.

Lermoos:

Small loop with fun factor for families & children | start/end: Grubigsteinbahn valley station | approx. 3km

Off you go on the Family Trail, Route 868, the perfect mountain bike tour for families and beginners! Discover the relaxed route that takes you from the Grubigsteinbahnen valley station in Lermoos over gentle climbs to the “Tiefental Eck”. Enjoy the magnificent view and look forward to the easy descent via the “Schlägle” downhill route back to the valley station.

With its easy level of difficulty and a length of around 3 kilometers, the route is ideal for beginners. Make sure you ride with foresight, show consideration for hikers and always have your safety equipment with you. A tour that guarantees fun for young and old!

Starting point: End of Lermoos in the direction of Biberwier | End point: Lermoos middle station | approx. 3.6km

The middle station route 804 is an easy mountain bike route, ideal for families and beginners. A 3.6-kilometre asphalted forest trail leads you from the end of Lermoos to the Grubigstein cable car middle station at an altitude of 1,333 meters. The ascent takes about an hour and offers wonderful views along the way. Remember your safety equipment and drive carefully, as the route is also used by hikers. Perfect for a relaxed tour in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena!

Starting point: end of Lermoos in the direction of Biberwier | end point: Grubigalm | approx. 4.5km

The Grubigalm middle station route 860 is a medium-difficulty mountain bike route in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena that takes you from the Grubigsteinbahn middle station to the Grubigalm at 1,700 meters above sea level.

Route description:

  • Starting point: middle station of the Grubigstein cable car
  • Length: approx. 4.5 kilometers
  • Altitude: 365 meters
  • Duration: about 46 minutes

The route runs along a flat forest road and is ideal for bikers with a good level of fitness. Once at the top, the Grubigalm offers an excellent place to stop for refreshments with regional specialties and an impressive panorama.

The Mittelstation-Grubigalm Route 860 offers an ideal opportunity to explore the alpine landscape around Lermoos on two wheels.

Starting point: End of Lermoos in the direction of Biberwier | End point: Grubigalm-Gipfelhaus | approx. 3km

The Grubigalm middle station route 860 is a medium-difficulty mountain bike route in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena. It leads from the Grubigsteinbahn middle station at 1,333 meters to the Grubigalm at 1,700 meters.

The route is approx. 4.5 kilometers long and climbs 365 meters in altitude. You should allow around 46 minutes for the ascent. The route runs along an easy forest road and is ideal for mountain bikers with a good level of fitness. Once you reach the top, the Grubigalm awaits you with a magnificent view and regional specialties.

The route is also used by hikers, so mutual consideration is particularly important. Remember your safety equipment and observe the general rules of conduct for shared paths. Alternatively, you can use the Grubigstein cable car as an ascent aid and start your tour from the middle station.

The Mittelstation-Grubigalm Route 860 is a great way to actively experience the impressive mountain landscape of the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena.

Starting point: Lermoos | End point: Gartner-Alm | approx. 5.2km

Route 857 to the Gartner Alm is a moderately difficult mountain bike route in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena. It starts in the Gries-Puite district of Lermoos, diagonally opposite the BP petrol station at the start of the village.

Route description:

  • Starting point: Gries-Puite district, Lermoos
  • Length: approx. 5.2 kilometers
  • Altitude difference: 384 meters
  • Duration: about 1 hour

The route takes you along a paved local road to Untergarten. There you turn left and follow a forest road that takes you directly to the Gartner Alm at an altitude of around 1,400 meters.

The Gartner Alm is a great opportunity to explore the alpine landscape around Lermoos on two wheels. Once at the top, you can enjoy the impressive view of the surrounding mountains and take a break.

Ascent via routes 804 + 860 until shortly before Grubigalm | approx. 1.4km

Route 862 to the Wolfratshauser Hütte is a medium-difficulty mountain bike route in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena. It starts in Lermoos and leads via routes 804 and 860 to just before the Grubigalm. From there, a flat forest trail with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains leads directly to the Wolfratshauser Hütte.

Route description:

  • Starting point: Lermoos
  • Length: approx. 1.4 kilometers from Grubigalm
  • Altitude: 70 meters
  • Duration: about 30 minutes from Grubigalm

The entire ascent via routes 804 and 860 is longer and more challenging, so a good level of fitness is required. Once at the top, the Wolfratshauser Hütte offers an excellent place to stop for refreshments with regional specialties and an impressive panorama.

Bichlbach:

Challenging hut tour | starting point: Bichlbach tourist office | end point: Bichlbacher Alm | approx. 7.8km

The mountain bike tour to the Bichlbacher Alm combines routes 832 and 884 and offers a moderately difficult challenge in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena. The starting point is Bichlbach at an altitude of around 1,050 meters.

Route description:

  • Starting point: Bichlbach
  • Routes: 832 (Panorama Trail) and 884
  • Highest point: Bichlbacher Alm at an altitude of 1,624 meters
  • Total length: approx. 15 kilometers (outward and return journey)
  • Altitude difference: approx. 574 meters
  • Duration: about 2.5 to 3 hours

The tour starts in Bichlbach and takes you along the panoramic trail (route 832) with moderate climbs and wonderful views. You then switch to route 884, which takes you directly to the Bichlbacher Alm at an altitude of 1,624 meters. This is a typical Tyrolean alpine pasture with fantastic views and a sunny location, where the landlord still hunts and looks after the cattle. Once at the top, you can enjoy the impressive view and take a well-earned break.

Heiterwang:

Starting point: Heiterwang center | end point: Ehrwald center | Heiterwang – Fuchsfarm – Bichlbach – Wengle – Lähn – Gries – Lermoos – Ehrwald | approx. 18.5km

The Panorama Trail from Heiterwang to Ehrwald is a moderately difficult mountain bike route in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena. The tour starts in Heiterwang and leads via Bichlbach, Wengle, Lähn and Lermoos to Ehrwald.

Route description:

  • Starting point: Heiterwang center
  • End point: Ehrwald center
  • Length: approx. 18 kilometers
  • Altitude difference: approx. 231 meters
  • Duration: about 1 hour and 35 minutes

The route runs along varied paths and offers wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. It passes through several villages and is ideal for mountain bikers with a good level of fitness.

Ehrwald:

Start/end: Shell petrol station Ehrwald | Very beautiful tour around the Daniel | approx. 48.6km

The mountain bike tour around Daniel, the highest peak in the Ammergau Alps, is a scenic and moderately difficult route in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena. It leads through impressive mountain landscapes and along picturesque lakes.

Route description:

  • Starting point: Bichlbach
  • Total length: approx. 45 kilometers
  • Altitude difference: approx. 490 meters
  • Duration: about 3.5 to 4 hours

The tour starts in Bichlbach and leads along the cycle path to Lermoos and on to Ehrwald. From there, follow the cycle path towards Garmisch until shortly before Griesen. After the bridge, turn left and cycle through the Neidernachtal valley to Plansee. Continue along the right bank of the lake to the Seespitze. Cross the bridge there and follow the path to Heiterwanger See. Cross the canal bridge and continue along the left bank of the lake to Heiterwang and finally back to Bichlbach.

Starting point: Ehrwalder Almbahn | End point: Sebensee | Wonderful bike tour | approx. 8.9km

Route 813 to Seebensee is a challenging mountain bike route in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena, which takes you from the valley station of the Ehrwalder Almbahn cable car to the picturesque Seebensee lake at an altitude of around 1,657 meters.

Route description:

  • Starting point: Ehrwalder Almbahn valley station
  • End point: Seebensee
  • Total length: approx. 9 kilometers
  • Altitude difference: approx. 630 meters
  • Duration: about 2.5 hours

The tour starts at the valley station of the Ehrwalder Almbahn and leads along a steep, asphalt road to the Ehrwalder Alm at 1,493 meters above sea level. Alternatively, you can shorten the ascent with the Ehrwalder Almbahn. From there, continue over the alpine pasture and after a short ascent over the saddle to the entrance of the Gaistal valley. At the fork in the trail, follow route no. 813 in the direction of Seebenalm. After the Seebenalm, the path becomes increasingly steeper and gravelier before you reach the idyllic Seebensee lake. The lake lies in a picturesque mountain landscape with views of the surrounding mountains and the Wetterstein massif with the Zugspitze (2,962 m).

Difficult, long tour around the Zugspitze | start/ end: Ehrwalder Almbahn valley station | approx. 79.7km Mountain bike tour around the Zugspitze

The mountain bike tour around the Zugspitze is a challenging route that starts and ends at the Ehrwalder Almbahn valley station. It leads through impressive alpine landscapes and requires a very good level of fitness and advanced riding technique.

Route description:

  • Start and end point: Ehrwalder Almbahn valley station
  • Total length: approx. 79.7 kilometers
  • Altitude: approx. 1,840 meters
  • Duration: about 7 to 8 hours

The tour starts at the valley station of the Ehrwalder Almbahn cable car and first heads towards Ehrwald. From there, the route continues via the Eibsee lake to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. You then ride back to Ehrwald via Grainau and finally to the valley station of the Ehrwalder Almbahn. Most of the route is on well-maintained paths, but also includes challenging climbs and descents.

The Fun Trail (Route 883) in Biberwier is an easy mountain bike route that is particularly suitable for beginners and families. The trail starts above the middle station of the Marienberg cable car and leads through the forest to the valley station.

Route description:

  • Starting point: Above the middle station of the Marienberg cable cars
  • End point: Marienberg cable car valley station
  • Length: approx. 1.43 kilometers
  • Altitude difference: approx. 172 meters

Notes:

  • The Fun Trail is also used by mountain karts and scooters. Therefore, pay particular attention to other users and ride with consideration.

The Wolfratshauser Trail (Route 863) is a moderately difficult single trail in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena that offers mountain bikers a varied riding experience.

Route description:

  • Starting point: hairpin bend on MTB route no. 861 below the “Windigen Eck”
  • End point: Wolfratshauser Hütte at 1,835 meters altitude
  • Length: approx. 1 kilometer
  • Difficulty level: S2 (moderately difficult)

The trail starts at the bend in MTB route no. 861 below the “Windigen Eck”. You first follow the ski slope and then reach a narrow single trail that leads directly to the Wolfratshauser Hütte. For the return journey, we recommend the forest road (route 862) to the Grubigalm.

Highest trail in the Zugspitz Arena with great views | starting point: Grubighütte | end point: Brettlalm | approx. 3.2km

The Grubigalm Trail (Route 864) is a moderately difficult single trail in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena that offers mountain bikers a varied riding experience.

Route description:

  • Starting point: Grubigsteinbahn mountain station at an altitude of 2,032 meters
  • End point: Grubigalm forest trail
  • Length: approx. 4.4 kilometers
  • Altitude downhill: approx. 650 meters
  • Difficulty level: S2 (moderately difficult)

The trail starts at the top station of the Grubigsteinbahn cable car and mostly leads downhill along the ski slope. It covers around 650 vertical meters over a length of 4.4 kilometers. The route is rated S2 throughout and is therefore suitable for both advanced riders and ambitious beginners.

  • The ascent can be made either with the Grubigstein cable cars (sections 1 and 2) or via the MTB routes 804, 860 and 861.

Beautiful, flowing trail through the Lermoos forest | starting point: Grubigalm | end point: bend below the middle station | approx. 3.25km

The Forest Aisle (2) (Route 865) is a moderately difficult flow trail in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena that is particularly suitable for mountain bikers who appreciate flowing descents with varied elements.

Route description:

  • Starting point: Grubigalm, accessible via the Grubigstein lifts sections 1 and 2 or the MTB routes 804 and 860
  • End point: near the middle station of the Grubigstein cable car
  • Length: approx. 3.25 kilometers
  • Altitude downhill: approx. 392 meters
  • Difficulty level: S2 (moderately difficult)

The trail starts at the Grubigalm and leads across a meadow into the sparse forest of the Grubigstein. It offers a natural flow with numerous pump track elements and steep bends. In the last section, technically challenging hairpin bends await you, but these can be bypassed via the forest road. After a short forest road section, the trail leads into the last flowing part of the freeride route.

Challenging trail with different surfaces | starting point: SunnAlm | end point: Hotel MyTirol | approx. 2.3km

The combination of Barbarasteig Trail (Route 869) and Rauhegasse Trail (Route 870) offers mountain bikers in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena a varied and moderately difficult riding experience.

Route description:

  • Starting point: bend on MTB route 835 at an altitude of approx. 1,480 meters
  • End point: near the Marienbergbahn 1 valley station
  • Total length: approx. 2.3 kilometers
  • Altitude downhill: approx. 430 meters
  • Difficulty level: S2 (moderately difficult)

The trails start at the bend in MTB route 835 at an altitude of around 1,480 meters. After crossing the Mure, the Barbarasteig branches off to the left and leads through sparse forest with technical, partly blocked and rooty terrain. At the end of the Barbarasteig trail, follow the forest path for about 150 meters to the right and turn left below the “Waldhaus Talblick” into Rauhe Gasse. This short, wide trail takes you back towards the Marienbergbahn 1 valley station.

Starting point: Lermoos middle station | End point: Grubigsteinbahn valley station | approx. 2.8km | Variant 1: Ascent via route 804 | Variant 2: Ascent with Grubigsteinbahn section 1

The Forest Thunder freeride route (1) is a challenging mountain bike descent in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena, designed especially for experienced riders.

Route description:

  • Starting point: middle station of the Grubigstein cable car
  • End point: Grubigsteinbahn valley station
  • Length: approx. 2.8 kilometers
  • Altitude downhill: approx. 360 meters
  • Difficulty level: Difficult

The route starts at the middle station of the Grubigsteinbahn and runs for around 2.8 kilometers with a difference in altitude of around 360 meters to the valley station. It is characterized by varied elements such as jumps, wall rides and ramps, which make for an exciting riding experience. The trail runs mostly through mountain forest and has an average gradient of 33%. At the end of the route, daredevils can expect a big jump in the immediate vicinity of the valley station.

The Blindseetrail (Route 866) in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena is a demanding single trail that is considered one of the most beautiful and challenging trails in the region.

Route description:

  • Starting point: Grubigstein, accessible via the Grubigstein cable cars or MTB routes 804 and 860
  • End point: Blindsee
  • Length: approx. 4.4 kilometers
  • Altitude downhill: approx. 830 meters

The trail starts at Grubigstein and leads over varied terrain with flowing sections, technical key sections and gravel passages down to the turquoise-blue Blindsee lake.
